Martin D Hyde’s has collaborated for a second time with multiple winner of BBC’s folk band of the year - LAU. Their new album - Midnight and Closedown has been receiving five star reviews in the music press and the national press. The album was produced by John Parish of PJ Harvey fame, and beautifully fuses folk with contemporary electronica.
The record and CD features 5 paintings by Martin. Martin was also responsible for the design duties for the release. This is the second release Martin has collaborated with LAU on; the first being their Decade album in 2017.
The album features the following paintings by Martin - Trickle Down Economics, Ark, Shadow Caster, Disnintergration, The Optomist, and My Body is a Cage. The rear cover painting ‘Ark’ of the ‘Midnight and Closedown’ album has also recently been selected by the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA), and will be exhibited from the 14 March — 13 April 2019.
