Martin D Hyde - Contemporary Artist

Martin D Hyde is a fine artist based in the UK. Martin's emotionally charged artworks reflect on living with cyclic depression, the impact on those around him and his place in the world. His work often features figurative elements, symbols or landscapes with differing levels of abstraction, with one series of work informing the next. Like the cyclic nature of his depression, this is a recurring process and the level of abstraction often relates to where Martin is in the cycle. Martin’s work explores isolation, belonging, identity, self-worth, contentment, and love. His work is able to balance sadness and melancholy with an optimism and hope for the future.

His paintings have been used for album artwork for critically acclaimed bands such as LAU, The Little Unsaid, and Joan as a Police Woman. He has been shortlisted for the Ashurst Emerging Artist award and the RBSA. He has collectors of his art worldwide including Claridges Hotel in London.
